ESL Resources for Teaching Spanish Speakers
Level: B1/B2 - Intermediate/Upper Intermediate
Time: 90 minutes
We love this video of Julianne Moore talking about living in Madrid and her obsession with El Corte Inglés, so we decided to turn it into a whole lesson plan!
It starts with some listening and vocabulary tasks based around the video, then goes on to cover some essential vocabulary for describing your neighbourhood - with plenty of opportunities for speaking along the way!
Finally, students will take part in two communicative tasks to put the language into practice. First, they’ll have to choose neighbourhoods for some “friends” moving into the area, then finally a “this or that” speaking task which is guaranteed to provoke plenty of lively discussion.
We’ve trialled this lesson with a few different groups and it’s been a real crowd pleaser, so we hope your students enjoy it, too!
Don’t forget to check out the lesson plan for lesson stages, timings and some top tips to help your class run smoothly.
